John Abraham Reboots Force Franchise With Force 3; Bhav Dhulia to Direct

Bollywood star John Abraham is all set to return as the unstoppable ACP Yashvardhan Singh in the much-awaited Force 3. After the success of Force (2011) and its sequel Force 2 (2016), the action franchise is officially being revived with a new director and a fresh vision.

The Legacy of the Force Franchise

Back in 2011, John Abraham headlined Nishikant Kamat’s action thriller Force alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Vidyut Jammwal. The film is still remembered for its high-octane action sequences—especially John lifting a motorbike and his epic face-off with Vidyut Jammwal.

In 2016, the franchise returned with Force 2 directed by Abhinay Deo, featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin. While it carried forward the gritty action, fans have been waiting ever since for another explosive chapter.

John Abraham Buys Rights & Revives Force 3

Seven years later, John Abraham has officially acquired the rights to the Force franchise from Vipul Shah and is rebooting it under his banner JA Entertainment.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, John has roped in Bhav Dhulia as the director for Force 3. Bhav Dhulia is best known for helming acclaimed web series like Netflix’s Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and The Freelancer.

A source close to the development revealed:

“John Abraham is rebooting the Force franchise, as he strongly believes in the character of ACP Yashvardhan Singh. He has developed a story that stays true to the raw, desi action elements of the franchise and handed over the directorial reins to Bhav Dhulia.”

Casting & Release Plans for Force 3

The film is expected to go on floors by the end of 2025. While John reprises his iconic role, the makers are in talks to bring in a powerful antagonist, similar to the memorable face-off between John and Vidyut Jammwal in the first film.

Force 3 is scheduled for release in the second half of 2026.

John Abraham’s Upcoming Films

Meanwhile, John Abraham is currently shooting for the much-talked-about Rakesh Maria biopic directed by Rohit Shetty, based on the life of the former Mumbai Police Commissioner. The film is expected to hit theaters in the first half of 2026, followed by the release of Force 3.

On the streaming front, John is also riding high on the success of his latest film Tehran, which is receiving acclaim on Netflix and Zee5.
