Vijay Deverakonda’s latest release Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, opened to high expectations and decent reviews, but the box office performance is now showing signs of slowing down. The film, which also stars Satyadev, Venkatesh, and Bhagyashri Borse, has so far earned a total of ₹40.5 crore in five days.
Kingdom Box Office Breakdown:
- Day 1 (Thursday): ₹18 crore
- Day 2 (Friday): ₹7.5 crore
- Day 3 (Saturday): ₹8 crore
- Day 4 (Sunday): ₹7 crore (Early estimates)
👉 Total Collection (5 Days): ₹40.5 crore
Despite a solid start, the film witnessed a dip in collections on its first Sunday, raising concerns about its sustainability at the box office. Kingdom is still trailing behind Vijay Deverakonda’s 2019 pan-India film Liger, which recorded a lifetime collection of ₹41.17 crore.
About the Film
Kingdom follows the journey of Suri, a police constable-turned-spy played by Vijay Deverakonda, who is sent on a covert mission to Sri Lanka by the Indian government to track down his long-lost brother Siva (played by Satyadev). The action-packed drama also features Bhagyashri Borse as Dr. Madhu and Venkatesh as Murugan. The film ends on a suspenseful cliffhanger, teasing a new villain and setting up for a sequel.
Sequel Confirmed
Producer Naga Vamsi stated at a press event,
“No film released in 2025 in the last seven months is as technically brilliant as Kingdom. We made it to Hollywood standards.”
He also confirmed that the sequel will go on floors once Vijay wraps up his ongoing projects.
